Commercial Bank of Kuwait Celebrates Kuwait Women’s Day, Reaffirming Support for Female Talents

The 16th May every year marks the anniversary when Kuwait celebrates the pioneering and influential role of Kuwaiti women in society, and their positive impact and contribution to the national development and advancements across all fields. In line with this national occasion, Commercial Bank of Kuwait “Al-Tijari” celebrates Kuwait Women's Day reaffirming its commitment to empowering female professionals and fostering their leadership and decision-making positions. This celebration comes in appreciation of the significant role those Kuwaiti women play in driving forward the country’s national development goals.  

To mark the occasion, the Bank organized a gathering for its female leaders from various divisions across the Bank, including executives, heads of departments, managers and leaders in various middle and supervisory levels. The strong turnout highlighted the effective positions that women hold and their active role in the Bank’s ongoing success and growth journey.

Commenting on the event, Ms. Elham Mahfouz, Chief Executive Officer of the Bank said: "Over the years, the Bank has consistently been encouraging women inclusion at workplace and supporting talented Kuwaiti women in the Bank through various training programs and employment opportunities, noting that their contributions have been vital for the Bank”.  She further added that Kuwaiti women are leading various departments and divisions in our Bank owing to their perspectives and strategic insights for achieving our goals. 

According to Ms. Elham Mahfouz, Kuwaiti women have proven their excellence within the Bank, and have contributed significantly to achieving success and deepening a culture of innovation and corporate collaboration. She confirmed that the Bank provides a supportive work environment that offers Kuwaiti women opportunities for professional development and growth while taking into account social and personal factors to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

From her part, Amani Al-Wara’a – Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communications Division - confirmed that Al-Tijari is always supporting Kuwaiti women and empowering them in all professional and practical fields. She accentuated the Bank's efforts to organize awareness, health and social events specifically tailored for women. This approach stems from the Bank’s belief in the capabilities and skills of Kuwaiti women and their fundamental role in achieving corporate and societal development.

Ms. Al-Wara’a added that the Bank's celebration of Kuwait Women's Day comes in appreciation of their contributions and pioneering role in the journey towards national development. She confirmed that the Bank will continue to champion initiatives that boost women's participation and professional development and leadership ambitions.
