Under "Ya Zeen Turathna" Campaign, Al-Tijari Raises Students’ Awareness of Kuwaiti Heritage

As part of its ongoing efforts to preserve Kuwaiti heritage and enhance younger generations’ connection to it, Commercial Bank of Kuwait (Al-Tijari) organized a field visit for students of Sumiyah Elementary School for Girls under the "Ya Zeen Turathna" campaign for 2026. The campaign aims to introduce children to aspects of authentic Kuwaiti heritage through an interactive approach that combines learning with entertainment.

The visit featured a range of interactive activities that gave students the chance to familiarize with traditional Kuwaiti customs, traditions and heritage games. It also included an engaging workshop focusing on most known games that formed an essential part of children's daily lives in the past, along with simplified explanations of how these games were played and their significance in Kuwaiti folklore.

On this occasion, Ms. Amani Al-Wara'a, Deputy General Manager of the Corporate Communications Division at the Bank, said: "We have the pleasure to organize such visits, which allow us to introduce younger generations to some aspects of our authentic Kuwaiti heritage while deepening their adherence to our history and national identity. We believe that preserving heritage is not just a documentation process; rather it should be presented to our younger generations using innovative and interactive methods that foster pride and familiarity with the heritage. Ya Zeen Turathna campaign sustains this principle through diverse activities that combine education, practical experience and entertainment to ensure instilling the values of Kuwaiti heritage in our children."

The event drew strong interaction from the students, who actively and happily participated in the activities and workshop. Students’ engagement in the event helped present folklore in a simplified and attractive way that connected heritage elements to practical experiences matching their interests.

At the end of the visit, the Bank’s Corporate Communications team distributed some souvenirs to students, including "Al-Hama", that is a traditional Kuwaiti ornamental headband, to keep heritage elements alive in their daily lives. Souvenirs were also presented to the School’s teaching and administrative staff in recognition of their efforts and support for educational and awareness initiatives.

For its part, the management of Sumiyah Elementary School for Girls expressed its appreciation to Commercial Bank of Kuwait for the visit, praising the Bank’s leading role in preserving Kuwaiti heritage, teaching the new generation about the history of their forefathers, and reinforcing national identity and belonging among students.
